EDUCATION

Two years ago the Ministry of education started a project aiming to secure the uniform quality of professional substance of Polytechnic graduates. The project was carried out in co-operation with schools, professionals, authorities and trade associations. The professional substance descriptions of 17 social and health care professions - including Ocuupational Therapist - can now be found in a report published in November 2001. These descriptions include each profession´s sphere of activities and responsibilities, professional knowledge, essential studies and field practice with the minimum amount of credits needed. The concepts used in the descriptions are based on each profession´s theory and customary practice. The working group carrying out the OT part of the report consisted of seven OT teachers and the education coordinator from our association.
