News Serbia 2009
 
         
          Couple of mayor event happened in Society of occupational therapist of Serbia.
In April 2009 we had our elections and new executives are now on duty.
President of association in the next 4 years is Milan Kecman who is also a COTEC delegate for Serbia, vice president is Marijana Vodopivec,secretary Branko Lazic, honorary secretary Tanja Cendic and treasurer Tanja Tasic.
          We are now in process of making plans for the next 4 years. One of the main task will be a making of the new constitution and code of ethics. We have also started a process of becoming a WFOT members.
          In jun parliament of Serbia voted on vocational rehabilitation law and now we are looking forward in implementing it in reality because OT were out of that area for decades.
          OTs in Serbia that are working in healthcare system finished their registration in our chamber and everybody got their licenses for working as an OT. License is valid for 7 years. Licensing system is valued in points so from next year everybody will need 24 points to enter into next year.
          In October we had our first national conference. Theme was ‘Creativity and innovations in occupational therapy’. We had over 200 participants from all over Serbia and couple of our colleagues from Slovenia Bosnia Montenegro and FYR of Macedonia. Participants were not only OTs but also physicians, physiotherapist and many other professions that are involved in OT work especially in mental and social care.

News from Serbia September 2006

 

Since October a few things have happened

 

-         In November we had our first elections for the executive after four years of existence as a society.  All members of the executive were reelected for a further - 4 year term of office.

-         In December the Parliament  passed a law about Chambers for Healthcare Professionals  and licensing of healthcare professionals.  This law means that for the first time in our history  we will have to be licensed if we want to work.    

-         This year is a special year  for OT in Serbia, not only that it is the 5th year of the existence of the Association, but it is also the 50th anniversary as an association with physiotherapists. The main event will be in October with a special ceremony for our all  friends and colleagues!
